My Co-Worker Belinda!

What can I say about Belinda??  She is full of life...has a great sense of humor...such a hard worker and most of all a great friend.  She recently celebrated her 60th Birthday.  Her 3 daughters planned a great party for her.  Her oldest daughter emailed me a few pictures of her with her Mom and I started creating. This is her gift. 

 

The retired Ariana Paper Pack was one of my favorites and the colors matched so well with her colors at home. The roses were cut from the Cricut and inked with matching colors.  One thing I love about Close To My Heart paper packs is that every paper matches perfectly together.  Another plus is on the very top of the patterned papers, there is an added sentiment that you can use with your projects.

August Color Challenge

Our Close To My Heart team has color challenges each month.  For the month of August, we were challenged to use these four colors ONLY!

Thistle

Canary

Pear

White Daisy

 

This is what I came up with using these four colors. 

 

 

 

 

First I cut White Daisy cardstock to an A2 card size and scored it to fold. 

Using the

 Geometric Backgrounds Stamp Set 

I stamped the background on White Daisy Cardstock with Thistle Ink and backed it with Thistle Cardstock.

Cutting out the flowers using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

made it super easy to stamp with Canary Ink using the

Pretty Petals Stamp Set

The leaves are stamped with

A Budding Friendship Stamp Set

using Pear Ink.  The sentiment was made using the

Glitter Glam Stamp Set

Using these colors together would not have been my first choice, but after I made this card for the challenge, it really goes great together.  Thinking outside the box and stretching your imagination can bring out a whole new creative idea.

Annual Inspirations Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop featuring some fabulous paper crafting projects and ideas from the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

If you've hopped over here from Crystal's Blog you are on the right track! 

This Blog Hop was especially exciting because we all used new and available items from the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

My project is a two page layout featuring the new paper pack
Brushed along with the coordinating
 assortment & compliments packs.  It's such a beautiful mix of patterned papers and cardstock.



This is our #3 Grandaughter out of 4 and she loves Dancing. When I saw the Brushed Paper Pack, these pictures immediately came to mind.   The stamp set A Budding Friendship was a great combination for this layout.

The flowers are stamped in new ink colors of Canary, Pixie and Flaxen along with Cranberry and Black. You can see all the ink colors HERE. The leaves are stamped in Pear and Topiary ink.  I stamped these colors on the Canary and Pixie Cardstock that is included in the paper pack.  I love the look of Flaxen ink on Canary & Pixie cardstock.

 The photo mats with the little banners and Bloom were cut on the Cricut using the Artbooking Cartridge .  This cartridge is so versatile and has a ton of designs and overlays that add so much to your projects.  The Dream, Believe and Do What You Love banners were made using one of the strips that is a bonus on the top of each piece of patterned paper.  Using the Thin 3-D Foam Tape to pop up the flowers and Bloom along with Liquid Glass it made it easy to put it all together.

My favorite paper pack in the Spring/Summer Idea book is Jubilee . I participated in the Pacemakers Flip Flop Challenge at Convention which was to decorate a pair of Flip Flops with Close To My Heart items.  This was made with the Jubilee Textiles cut in strips and tied around the straps. The center was cut from the Artiste Cartridge . These other items are included in the collection:

• 1 – Cartridge (700 images: themed projects, cards, fonts, shapes, and 3-D items)
• 3 – My Acrylix™ D-size stamp sets
• 3 – 12" × 9" Dimensional Elements (3 sheets of different shapes)

I attached the center cuts with Liquid Glass and with some coordinating inks and stamping, this project turned out to be so fun!  I was so happy and proud when the judging was finished and these funky Flip Flops won Most Pretty!

 

 

 

There are so many possibilities with Close To My Heart.  It's not just for scrapbooking.  It's Paper Crafting Art!

July Color Challenge for The Rose Blossom Team

So love a challenge and this one was to use ONLY.....Indian Corn Blue, Honey, Cranberry & White Daisy.  It was certainly a challenge but with a couple stamp sets and the Cricut it was a breeze.

 

 

I used the new stamp available in August called A Budding Friendship and the sentiment was a new stamp as well...Happy Birds.  The flowers were cut on the Cricut using the Artiste Cartridge. You will love the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  So many beautiful layouts and projects.  Watch for all the new things coming out....you can order beginning in August!

Free To Be Me Mini Album

I've been playing around with the Free to be Me paper pack and decided to make a mini album.  The paper is just adorable and can be used for so many things.  These album pages are little pieces of my heart put on paper. Some of the pictures are from this Easter and some are random pictures of our family.  Grandkids and grown kids. We are so blessed with a close family.

For my Mom!

Mother's Day is right around the corner and I wanted to create something that my Mom could keep rather than a card.  She has the perfect spot on her fireplace mantle for her new gift.  Plan to get an easel more suited to the size of the canvas....but this will do for now.

 



Our CTMH team had a color challenge for May and the colors were Colonial White, Lagoon, Goldrush and Ponderosa Pine.  I would not have thought of putting these colors together, but with the challenge, it stretched my comfort zone and now I love it.
